Head of Electronics SW Development
I joined FORVIA HELLA fifteen years ago at the headquarters in Germany as a software engineer. I have always been fascinated by the world of programming and software development. As early as during my studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (at Brno University of Technology, majoring in Cybernetics, Automation and Measurement), I was very involved in it through a number of external collaborations. For as long as I can remember I have been attracted by cutting-edge technologies, innovative solutions and technically interesting and complex projects in the field of embedded systems. That's why I decided to join the team in Mohelnice.

From the beginning here I have been dealing with software for lighting electronics. Now I am leading the software development group within the electronics department. It consists of teams in Mohelnice and Ostrava. Since 2010, we have gradually managed to build a strong team in the Czech Republic with an excellent reputation within the global development network. We are proud to be able to leave our Czech imprint on the vast majority of lighting electronics software developed by FORVIA HELLA worldwide. I personally see a great future in this sector and I am sure that FORVIA HELLA with its Global Software House will not be absent. That's something I am looking forward to.

Assembly Engineer
I did my studies at the Secondary Vocational School in Litovel, majoring in Mechanics and Electronics. I joined FORVIA HELLA in 2010, as a helper on the assembly line. A few months in, I was given the opportunity to work as an assembly line setter. I did that for six years and then moved to the position of a shift assembly technician. From the very beginning, what I have particularly enjoyed about my job is the wide range of focus, being able to follow the advancement of technology and having the opportunity to learn new things from all sectors of manufacturing.

However, I am most attracted to robotics. In 2019, I was promoted to Manufacturing Engineer, which is the position I still hold today. My task is to keep dedicated production lines running smoothly. This is achieved with the help of a team of setters and support from colleagues in other departments.

Recruiter
This year is my fourth year in the recruitment team in Mohelnice. What I enjoy most about my job is that I get to meet top professionals that I recruit for development and production positions. It is also fantastic to see a new BMW and know that it was in part developed and produced by my colleagues that I just met at an interview. And interviews are no cliché here. In the first interview round, the direct supervisor of the position being recruited is already there with me, and much of the interview is conducted in a professional spirit.

In the second round, we walk directly to the workplace so that the candidates have a more concrete idea of the work environment and the technologies used. In production, we mainly present the advanced automation and robotics or show them the simulation software they will be working with. Also the highly equipped laboratories in the development department, which are a point of pride for us. This allows them to get to know not only their future workplace and colleagues, but also their future boss, which I think is very important.

Head of Development Laboratories Group
I have now been working at FORVIA HELLA in Mohelnice for more than 5 years. I had studied at Brno University of Technology but did not finish. Then I worked as a tester on a production line for just under a year. It was a very valuable experience for me, and so I decided to go back to study at the university, where I successfully completed my studies in Electro-technical Production and Management. After graduation, I took up a position of a test engineer in a vibration testing facility and subsequently also worked in the same position for two years in Germany.

As a group, we are undergoing a gradual development and thanks to this we have the opportunity for further professional growth in the areas of testing, cooperation with the development team and communication with the customer.

What I appreciate about working at FORVIA HELLA is that it offers a pleasant working environment and working in a good team, not only on a professional but also on a personal level, access to modern technologies, and an opportunity for further growth internationally. A big bonus for me is the flexible working hours, thanks to which I was able to complete my US - MBA studies at the Brno University of Technology in cooperation with the University of St. Francis - Joliet, USA.

Lead Optician
I joined FORVIA HELLA more than five years ago as an Optical Computing Engineer, just three months before completing my postgraduate studies in Applied Mathematics at Palacký University in Olomouc. From the very beginning, learning completely new things was truly inspiring for me.

Later, I worked as a Lead Lighting Engineer for front headlamp development. Since 2024, I have been leading this group.

I appreciate the high complexity of the entire system, where everything is interconnected and influences one another. It is truly a team effort, and I work most closely with optical engineers, electronics specialists, and designers like Tomáš.
And what’s the best part? The joy of spotting cars on the road equipped with headlamps we developed—seeing the tangible result of our hard work.

Lead Design Engineer
During my studies in Machine and Equipment Design at VŠB-TUO, I developed a strong interest in the automotive industry. In my fourth year, I was particularly drawn to the course Plastics in Mechanical Engineering and Automotive Design, which was under the guidance of FORVIA HELLA.

During my studies, I joined the FORVIA HELLA trainee program at the VMK department, which focuses on designing machines and production lines. There, I also worked on my diploma thesis. After graduation, I never even considered applying anywhere else—I knew FORVIA HELLA was the right place for me.

I started in the front headlamp development department as a Detail Designer Engineer. After a year, I moved into the role of Lead Design Engineer. The creative work, combined with a team-oriented and friendly atmosphere, allows me to continuously learn and grow professionally even after two years. Being in touch with the latest industry trends and having access to cutting-edge technologies is another key reason why I am proud to be part of FORVIA HELLA.
