Head of Electronics SW Development
I joined HELLA thirteen years ago at the headquarters in Germany as a software engineer. I have always been fascinated by the world of programming and software development. As early as during my studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (at Brno University of Technology, majoring in Cybernetics, Automation and Measurement), I was very involved in it through a number of external collaborations. For as long as I can remember I have been attracted by cutting-edge technologies, innovative solutions and technically interesting and complex projects in the field of embedded systems. That's why after a number of years of practice I decided to join the Hella team.

From the beginning here I have been dealing with software for lighting electronics. Now in my eighth year, I am leading the software development group within the electronics department. It consists of teams in Mohelnice and Ostrava. Since 2010, we have gradually managed to build a strong team in the Czech Republic with an excellent reputation within the global development network. We are proud to be able to leave our Czech imprint on the vast majority of lighting electronics software developed by Hella worldwide. I personally see a great future in this sector and I am sure that HELLA with its Global Software House will not be absent. That's something I am looking forward to.

Automotive is really one of the areas where technology is developing at a breakneck speed. At Hella, I have the opportunity to encounter and actively work on these cutting-edge technologies. For me personally, it is important that I have the chance to constantly learn new things, work on modern solutions and be part of an international development team. All this in a friendly and pleasant working environment.

Assembly Engineer
I did my studies at the Secondary Vocational School in Litovel, majoring in Mechanics and Electronics. I joined Hella in 2010, as a helper on the assembly line. A few months in, I was given the opportunity to work as an assembly line setter. I did that for six years and then moved to the position of a shift assembly technician. From the very beginning, what I have particularly enjoyed about my job is the wide range of focus, being able to follow the advancement of technology and having the opportunity to learn new things from all sectors of manufacturing.

However, I am most attracted to robotics. In 2019, I was promoted to Manufacturing Engineer, which is the position I still hold today. My task is to keep the ŠKODA Enyaq and SEAT Ateca production lines running smoothly. This is achieved with the help of a team of setters and support from colleagues in other departments.

Hella has given me the opportunity to apply my talents in exactly the right direction.

Recruiter
This year is my fourth year in the recruitment team in Mohelnice. What I enjoy most about my job is that I get to meet top professionals that I recruit for development and production positions. It is also fantastic to see a new BMW and know that it was in part developed and produced by my colleagues that I just met at an interview. And interviews are no cliché here. In the first interview round, the direct supervisor of the position being recruited is already there with me, and much of the interview is conducted in a professional spirit.

In the second round, we walk directly to the workplace so that the candidates have a more concrete idea of the work environment and the technologies used. In production, we mainly present the advanced automation and robotics or show them the simulation software they will be working with. Also the highly equipped laboratories in the development department, which are a point of pride for us. This allows them to get to know not only their future workplace and colleagues, but also their future boss, which I think is very important.

Head of Development Laboratories Group
I have now been working at HELLA Mohelnice for three years. I had studied at Brno University of Technology but did not finish. Then I worked as a tester on a production line for just under a year. It was a very valuable experience for me, and so I decided to go back to study at the BUT, where I successfully completed my studies in Electro-technical Production and Management. After graduation, I took up a position of a test engineer in a vibration testing facility and subsequently also worked in the same position for two years in Germany.

As a group, we are undergoing a gradual development and thanks to this we have the opportunity for further professional growth in the areas of testing, cooperation with the development team and communication with the customer.

What I appreciate about working at HELLA is that it offers a pleasant working environment and working in a good team, not only on a professional but also on a personal level, access to modern technologies, and an opportunity for further growth internationally. A big bonus for me is the flexible working hours, thanks to which I was able to complete my US - MBA studies at the Brno University of Technology in cooperation with the University of St. Francis - Joliet, USA.

Lead Optician
I joined Hella four years ago as an Optical Computing Engineer, three months before finishing my postgraduate studies in Applied Mathematics at Palacký University in Olomouc. Learning completely new things was inspiring for me from the very beginning. Currently I am working as a Lead Lighting Engineer in the Systems Group for Headlight Development.

I like the high complexity of the whole system, where everything is intertwined and interacts. It is really a team effort, with me working most closely with the optical computing, electronics and design engineers like Tom. And what's probably the best part? The feeling of joy when I see cars with headlights we have developed driving down the road. That is when I can see the real, tangible result of our efforts.

Development Designer
It was when I was studying at the Technical University of Ostrava (majoring in Design of Machines and Equipment) that I became interested in automotive engineering. In my fourth year, a specific course caught my attention. It was Plastics in Mechanical Engineering and Automotive Design which was under the guidance of HELLA. During my studies, I joined the HELLA Trainee Program at the VMK department, which deals with the design of machines and production lines, and I completed my master thesis there. After graduation, I did not even consider a job in a company other than HELLA.

I joined the Headlight Development department for Mercedes Benz as a Detail Designer Engineer. Working creatively in a team and friendly atmosphere allows me to keep learning new things and growing professionally even after two years. Being in touch with the latest trends in the industry and having access to cutting-edge technology is one of the other reasons for me to be part of HELLA.
